We developed Signal Integry, FPGA, and complete board design that brought about a whole new method of combining ethernet and backplanes.
The solution was a combination of FPGA and standard switch components. We created a low power active backplane that allows inactive parts to power down until they are needed again.
We were faced with a challenging design task, and we wanted to focus on decreasing power consumption. We achieved a flexible design that balances power usage and cost. Due to our solid signal integrity experience, we accomplished a stable design in the first version. Our design is versatile and can be easily revised should Bruel & Kjaer need to modify any part of the system. We provided them with extensive documentation as well.
Bruel & Kjaer were able to achieve a complete board design in shorter time, which dramatically improves the overall system flexibility.
